“We are delighted to welcome to our stable Charlotte Swiden a Swedish artist and designer living in the Mornington Peninsula (Boonwurrung), and can’t wait to reveal her upcoming solo presentation.

Charlotte’s work has been greatly influenced by her Scandinavian heritage and love of nature. Her disciplined approach to composition and colour, honed as a graphic designer, transmutes into something like an inner landscape in her expressive paintings that pulsate with motifs of luminous figures and intimations of the natural world rendered in a muted earthen palette. Her forms shaped by the interplay of two identities, two cultures and the tensions that lies between them.

Her work has been exhibited throughout Australia in both solo and group shows and can be found in private collections nationally and internationally. Most recently, Charlotte was one of the finalists in the Saint Kevin’s Omnia Art Prize 2022.”
